Minnesota got shafted!
I checked out the map of theme parks on Google Maps. There was NOTHING in Minnesota (or any state touching it). No mention of Valley Fair, the Nickelodeon Univerise at Mall of America, nothing. There wasn't even a mention of Wisconsin Dells, The Water Park Capital of the World!® Iowa has Adventure Land, South Dakota: Gulches of Fun, and North Dakota, well, I couldn't find much appealing on a interstate of national level, but they do have a couple fun parks and some zoos.
There are some mapping websites, which I will refrain from bashing by name, that are just plain wrong a lot of the time, but Google Maps I had a little more respect for. Who comes up with these locations? Did they do any research? Are they just spitting out information they were given by someone that loves to overlook the midwest, thinking we are a bunch of country folk with nothing exciting to do here? There are a lot of those thinkers out there. Also, multiple times, I have seen those "on the street" poll takers and trivia games where people can't even tell you what states border which other in the MN, ND, SD, IA and WI areas. It's pretty sad, we (at least I can, and my circle of friends and family can, and some of us only have a high school diploma!)know what their state looks like, and can point to it on a map.
Anyways, here is the map it pooped out, obviously some sort of bias.
